the first vid for the werk buk!

jeepers, the truth is, i suck at doing a blog. by the time you get through doing all the work associated with having a book come out, the last thing you wanna do it talk about it even more. oh well. time to try again. the next book comes out in oct. and here's the first promo vid i did for it. hope you enjoy. dumb in all the right ways, i think...

the new site is up plus stacks o' the book

got the website for the book up and running. did it through i-web and it all went well.

this promotion thing never ends. let's hope it's all worth it!

meanwhile, here's a shot of the book's table at the oakview barnes & noble in omaha. sorta surreal...

2nd and 3rd vids are up!

man, am i ever behind with the blog!

i've spent the last couple of weeks making two new vids for Z4Z. the 2nd one is a phake pharma ad for a drug in the book:

the 3rd one is a vid for the dance track i wrote and recorded on behalf of the book. it's called "do the shuffle" and it's named after one of the customized dance steps. it's over here:

i'm going to have to get better at keeping up with this stuff!

the first Z4Z vid!

well, i finally broke down, got out the little digital camera i'd bought and put together an intro to Z4Z here:

had never used imovie and had a ball doing it. it's pretty damn dumb -- see what you think...

so i finally chose an author pic. i think it's the proper blend of suave and stupid, a reasonable analog to the book itself.

i need to turn in the acknowledgments tomorrow. i put the "ack" in acknowledgments! ackkkkkkkkkkkk!

there has been some more fun stuff come out of los angeles as far as the film end of things goes. i'll relay more of that when i feel like it's okay to do so.

all for tonight. will try to get back on the pony and be a bit more consistent!

meanwhile, meditate harder!!!...

Interesting day yesterday re the book. Got an email from the head of publicity for the publishing company with a LOT of info for me to take in regarding what I can do to help the cause along with an intro to the publicist who will be assigned to the book. I am sooooo gung ho about this!

Also, I had a couple of talks with the film agent associated with the literary agency. What a hoot!

This artist thang is wayyyyyyyyy more work than any straight job I ever had! But no complaints here -- I'm grateful to be on this little path.

Will post a drawing or two of Daniel Heard's (the illustrator of Z4Z) work soon. He's amazing and you can find more of his stuff at

The Library of Congress needed to know my bday today for the book. Apparently, there are other David Murphys out there. Bastards.

(and thanks to Daniel Heard for the amazing title/lettering work. more to come from him soon...)
